Perhaps to show that entropy thrives around Slothrop. Remember that "Tyrone
Slothrop" is an anagram for "Entropy or Sloth"

I love the choice of "Nalline" for Slothrop's Mother. Nalline is a
trademark for nalorphine, which used to be used for detecting narcotics
addiction and counteracting narcotic respiratory depression. Large doses of
it often were used on addicts for negative reinforcement therapy. I'm
pretty sure it was in use in 1945, (though not when his mother was named).
Is it possible that the drug was named after his mother?
