banana peels

I thought that the banana in the VU packaging was the same one that was 
being sprayed on the exterior walls of galleries in NY after Warhol 
died--an anonymous artist marked some of the places that had first 
promoted Pop Art...a faint recollection of reading an article about it at 
the time....Does anyone remember hearing about this?
