The fact that I live in a resort community does not mean I am wealthy or
idle. I work very hard at Mexican rates and provide sorely need
communications services in a country that needs my expertise. I live in
the Hotel Zone because my landlords, James and Mae Pope of Davis,
Michigan, are saints, true Christians, who have made it possible for me
to finish three books that represent my life's work. If it weren't for
them, we would be out on the street. The computer I'm writing this on
was given to me by Chrissie's husband. The people who are closest to us
don't make these judgments because they know me personally and they know
what I am doing.

Who are you to decide who's deserving and who isn't? You don't know me
and you don't know what I'm doing, or why I'm in the position where I
feel the need to ask strangers to send me books because I can't afford
to buy them myself.
Ask the "more deserving" them to send you information on Thomas Pynchon,
too, while they're at it. I didn't gratuitously post this article. I
received a number of requests for it after I had taken off-line because
I didn't want to prejudice my copyright. If you didn't appreciate it,
delete it.

Oh, so you're jealous! I don't party here. I work here. I'm not rich. My
wife *is* beautiful. I am not going to eveal more about our economic
situation (that might be considered a hustle, because I might reveal
some needs) except to tell you that you have a lot wrong -- in your
conclusions about me, and, I think, in your heart. Make the sacrifices
that I've made -- that we've made -- in your career, in faithfulness to
the principles of truth and community and maybe you can enjoy similar
benefits -- not to speak of lots of lentil soup.

How about it folks? Should we just remove the piece again? How about if
I put some kind of a meter on it and charge by the view or download? Be
fitting, I think, given the comments about prurient interest.
Goodness gracious! I gave of myself and had the nerve to make a
suggestion about how those who wished could show their appreciation.
