And conspiracy does exist, even throughout the official histories. Of
course, any conspiracy would be *very happy* to have you believe that They
are more powerful and far-reaching than They actually are (although,
depending upon their aims, complete ignorance of Them would probably be
preferable).
Michael Parenti has a great quote on the subject; I paraphrase: "People
are always coming up to me and asking, 'Do you really believe that some
committee actually gets together in a room somewhere and *plots* these
things?' NO! They transmit microfilm to each other while parachuting out
of airplanes! OF COURSE THEY FUCKING GET TOGETHER IN A ROOM!"
Trilateralists, Bilderbergers, Gnomes of Zurich (I won't say "International
Bankers" lest I be accused of anti-Semitism); they're out there, but they
ain't the Truth, that's for sure.
