Statehood for Cuba?

One of my fantasies is: When the blockade comes down and Cuba is fully
absorbed into the global economy and the Cuban Communist party has
transformed itself into a left social democratic party, like most of the
world's other CPs  there will be a political struggle in Cuba which will by
that time consist of the island, and the mainland concentrations.  Should
the left win that struggle the outcome of the whole episode will effectively
be the invasion of the USA by Cuba.  The left in the States will gain a
political leadership and history/tradition which could provide a turning
point in the life of the counterforce.
