There is a procedure used in brewing certain types of beer called
'decoction mashing.' While the bulk of the malted barley steeps in
hot water and amylase enzymes released from the husks transform the
starchy grains into sugars, a smaller portion is transferred to a
decoction vessel, where it is subjected to boiling temperatures and
vigorous stirring. The elevated temperature unfortunately kills all
the enzymes, but when the decoction is returned to the mashtun the
enzymes there are presented with starch grains that have been softened
by the boiling so as to be more accessible to saccharification and
marvellously enhanced in flavor. It stands to reason that with El
Lider entering the Jeremy Bentham phase of his trajectory, there would
be a certain amount of flacking and shilling for schemes to avoid
Albanianization; but Statehood, even with '98 a centennial year,
probably is not in the best interests of Cuba or even the leaderless
American left.
Meanwhile over in the benzene ring, it would have seemed natural that
the return of God's Peace to earth would be facilitated by the
womblike S-Geraet, a closing of the loop. But didn't the compartment
get placed by the dorsal, not ventral, fin, a location corresponding
to the lumbar ganglia? Something too, about burning, near Gottfried's
shoulder blade? Earlier, cartomancy, now a hint of scapulomancy,
references to internal lines of force... GR chi is?
