One only has to remember the recent revelations (though well known for a
while) of the School of the Americas where we trained South America in the
techniques of torture and assassination to be reminded of the nature of U.S.
involvement in South America. An interesting movie which I think some of you
might be interested in is "Walker" by Ronnie Cox, the same director that did
"Sid and Nancy". It compares the invasion by an American John Walker and his
private army of Nicaragua in the 1840's to our modern day interference. I
haven't seen M&D yet but I wouldn't be surprised if he's mentioned. I highly
recommend it.
