Dear Folks,
Quite the proverbial tempest in a teapot... I received one of the
notes as well. I suspect that I had little to add to this particular
discussion, except my attempt at an "artistic" post on 1/30. But still,
I figure that at best, my e-mail belongs to my corporate masters (tongue
firmly in cheek here), then if this be book-worthy then so be it. For
about 15 minutes I worried about some IBM lawyer and career repercussions
then I remembered my motto of "I was looking for a job when I found
this one." In other words, a book I might have been more interested in
a few years ago. If there be value here, then so be it. Maybe the
owner of the list server should reap the rewards, or maybe not. I
think of this list as more of a call-in talk show than a group
book effort, but one man's trash is another's treasure.
Didn't W. Gibson do something that erased itself as you read it? I
remember one of the episodes in one of his books (too many brain
cells ago to be more precise, but maybe he would like it that way)
where the guy in ROM (or whatever he calls it) has died, and asks
that they erase it when they are done with him. So, what is
disposable? Used to be, LP's wore out, the negatives faded, the
master print deteriorated...
Regards,
Brett
