Joanna Russ has been seriously ill for more than a decade now.  In the early
'90s I exchanged a few letters with her about Angela Carter [whose work she
loves], and at that point she was practically crippled with arthritis, among
other things.  This is why we've seen so little of her work in the past 10
years or so.
