Dealing with doubleness

No, not duplicity (hasn't there been more than enough of that?).
Doubleness. Dollyhood, to reuse, somewhat sheepishly, a baaaadly
overused metaphor. Multiple posts, like multiple Montes appearing
in boozy double vision at KGB, repeated and reiterated and redundant,
arriving in excess, again and again ad nauseam. (I had 185 new ones
this morning, most of which triggered the ol' deja vu; is this a
record?)
This isn't another equally redundant complaint about it; it's a
concrete suggestion, an alternative to filters. I tried subscribing
to the List in digest format today, something that didn't work when I
tried it a couple of months ago; today my luck was better. It
works. The really good news is that the digest version doesn't
include all those clones. If you're willing to trade immediacy for
compactness, converting to the digest might be just the ticket
(especially now, with traffic taking off geometrically).
