My first thought in connection with Boone is Dylan's Ballad of a Thin 
Man, the lines "There oughta be a law against you hangin around / You 
should be made to wear earphones."  This is the guy who once said, for 
publication, that he'd rather have his little daughter killed in a 
nuclear war than have her grow up under Godless, Atheistic Communism.  I 
felt at the time (late '50's) that this remark really said all that 
needed to be said about the Christian Right, and it's held up remarkably 
well for almost 40 years.
