Rathenau Frage

I'm an occasional lurker on this list and wish I had more time in the day to
follow.

Anyway, question is this: does Pynchon have a legit source for the Rathenau
Seance scene in GR?  Is this historical, WWII myth or just TRP's wild
imagination?

I'd appreciate any leads on this or some instructions on how to get to the
archives of this list if this ground has been covered already.
