Hello all--

New to this list, and lurking for two weeks now.

_Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf_ is not, of course,
a novel, but after seeing it I could never think of
my college profs the same way again.

It seems this thread has established so many exceptions
to the academic-novels-are-hackwork proposition as to
negate the proposition itself.  Write about what you
know, someone once said.
