2) How does one unsubscribe (I'm leaving town for a few days and want to
take a brief break from the list)

Are there any Mason & Dixon parties I should be informed about,
since I haven't been a part of this list for very long?

This may make the phone # go away, and I have yet called it, but I did a
search on the internet white pages for "pynchon" in LA and a number for a 
V. Pynchon came up, address as well.  I don't know if anyone's interested
in bothering the poor Ms. Victoria/Virginia who lives at the address, but
you can check the search on the Lycos engine if you care to check.
