The plot thickens.  KEWB-AM was a top 40 powerhouse in Oakland during the
60s.  In 1962, Casey Kasem developed his still-irritating schtick there.
 Before that, Gary Owens (from Laugh-In and elsewhere) was also a DJ there.
 And we know that Pynchon was in Oakland and Berkeley in the mid-60s mooning
over Ruby Tuesday and A Whiter Shade of Pale.  But Herman's Hermits?
