An anecdote

In trying to discover what JC REALLY said to Brutus I accidentally
pulled down my once-wife's Reed College Western Civ source book
(it was about the same size as the Complete Shakespeare) and
it miraculously fell open to a selection from a 1918 work by Walter
Rathenau in which he lays out his blue print for post war Germany including
cartelization. I now see more than ever why Walter wanted a second
chance to go over things with the Nazis and they want another
shot at him. Walter was a thoroughgoing democrat but his ideas
could be subject to different interpretations.

Still don't know what JC said, but intend to find out. Next post will be
"What Rathenau Knew."
