Yeah, that's it. I recall Pynchon uses the related word callipygous
(as in `callipygous rondure') when describing that wicked Whappo and
his even more wicked buttocks (something about dusky skin tones and
Nordic blah blah).

And, if I might make a suggestion: it's quite a good idea to read
Lempriere's `Dictionary' when you read `Lempriere's Dictionary', if
you get my drift. Quite enjoyed it. Still have nto completed the
Pope's Rhino yet, though (it's edging back up to the top of the
to-be-read pile along with `Infinite Jest' - just have to clear
Mailer's riveting anything-you-can-do-Truman-esque `The Executioner's
Song' and Coetzee's `Waiting for the Barbarians').
