The is a copmpanion book, Gravity's Rainbow Companion, but I would suggest
you just go ahead and read GR without it -- the companion only going to get
you into trouble. Instead of focussing on absorbing the literature - you'll
be caught up in the details. The first time I read GR, I just read it cover
to cover, about 100 pages a day, THEN wet back and used the companion. I
both thouroughly enjoyed the book, and was able to understand it a little
better afterwards! (I don't know anyone who "gets it" the first time -- and
I suspect no one ever really does fully! :-)
Peace, and enjoy -- if you get past the first 100 pages, you'll be a fan for
life!
