Through serendipity (please don't put that on any list), I came across this factoid, a
parenthetical aside in an article on Shakespeare movies:

<quote>(One of Orson Welles's last and most quixotic film projects was a movie of
MOBY-DICK consisting of himself,. in close up, reading the novel against an empty blue
background) <close quote>

Is this mind boggling or what? Can you visualize this? Welles folks: does this film exist?
was it completed? can it be seen? has anyone (Don L. maybe) ever seen it? I would love
to see this film. Or even know more about it. How long would it take to read the novel
aloud--maytbe 30-40 hours? Can this possibly be for real?

The article:*The Ghost at the Feast* by Geoffrey O'Brien NEW YORK REVIEW OF
BOOKS (Feb. 6, 1997) pp. 11-16.

Happy Valentine's Day. New Romantics Reunite!! Warts, obsessive laundry lists and all,
