Matt Ruff

Any takes on Matt Ruff, who the Washington Post says is "Very much in 
the absurdist tradition of Pynchon, Heller, Robbins, and Vonnegut" in 
it's review of "Sewer, Gas & Electric"?  

I seem to recall somemention on the p-list, particularly  vis-a-vis a 
character in this novel who descends into the sewers of NY to hunt 
alligators, apparently amidst many other literary 
references/plagiarisms. But whenever the subject of this book came 
up, I was completely unfamiliar with it and deleted any messages that 
might have mentioned it.
