: Ok, hope I'm not abusing the list, but I just ran across
: this phrase _die weber_ and I'm not sure what it means, and
: knowing the vast linguistic knowledge haunting this list, I
: thought I'd ask here.

As others pointed out already it means "The Weavers". Every German who
attended high school will as well associate a late 19th century play
called "Die Weber" written by Gerhart Hauptmann.
