I was the loony who said it. All I was referring to was stuff like Charlie
batting the globe around in the air and Spike heiling in der Fuhrer's
face. My point was it would have been no revelation at the time that
Hitler was in touch with occult forces. Others, like Don, have refined
upon this. None of this necessarily reflects on the real man. Whether
he personally was "insane" or believed in spirits seems to me largely
irrelevant. The evil he accomplished completely swamps any "beliefs"
he might have had.

That high Nazis in general were occultists IS interesting Anybody
have any additional references?

Someone asked why Hitler was chosen by the powers-that-be.
One answer is he delivered the crowds with that famous charisma.
He was also a shrewd and calculating politician. Knew how to manipulate
people and grab power of his own.

Another random thought: What politicians say is largely utilitarian.
It's not that they don't believe it. But that's secondary to what the
lowest common denominator believes. Hitler believed this supremely.
(but even little kids know that)

Here's a topical example. You would never ask Jesse Helms what
HE thinks about the Piss Christ. If he were honest he would answer
that HE doesn't think ANYTHING about it. But if you asked what the Lord
thinks . . .
