I heard Lenny Bruce in person once.  Lenny Bruce hated racism (and other 
bigotry) with an intense passion, and he would be making a scathing, 
rage-filled, and very funny attack on presumptively non-racist white 
folks who are so attached to the tradition of racist jokes that they 
can't give them up, and who burst out into torrents of whining -- sorry, 
guys, but that's what it is -- when people criticize their lousy manners 
and their persistent ignorance.

So OK, be pissed off at me for saying that, but it's the bad truth.
