Since Rick Moody (is he still checking out this list?) probably won't blow
his own horn, I feel obligated to draw P-list attention to the following

"In April, Moody -- whose novel "The Ice Storm" has been made into a movie
by Ang Lee starring Sigourney Weaver -- will publish "Purple America," a
dense, tremendously well-crafted novel, something like Cheever crossed with
