P.S. to Paul:  Regarding capitalism, I did not -- in fact -- exclude

		person, and I rather like the things it buys.  

Thanks for that, Andrew. Glad I'm not the only one. Was getting a little worried with all the knocking of "enlightened self-interest" of late.

My own feeling is that all other wayposts on the spectrum of
self-interest are inferior to the enlightened one. This notwithstanding the fact that pure UNenlightened self-interest has probably never been tried. :-)

Will give some more thought to the interesting question you pose.
