We talked about these books awhile ago. I have the *Mortality*. It's almost impossible to
describe the eerie effect of that photograph; it actually prompted an interesting brief
interpretive exchange (long since lost from my decrepit computer archives), having to do
with those *bars* or whatever they are in the background pf the cover photo. Mine was
brought back from England as a gift by a friend circa 1974-5; he also gave me the
*Lowlands* but someone ripped it off from me back in grad school.
