My extra-Pynchonian reading:
MYTH, LITERATURE, AND THE AFRICAN WORLD by Wole Soyinka; THE
PHAEDRUS of Plato; assorted political philosophy.
And on the turntable: Gould's GOLDBERG VARIATIONS, Love's
FOREVER CHANGES, INFAMOUS ANGEL by Iris DeMent.
Waiting for the surveyors, like the rest of you --

P.S. Alexander Theroux's book is called THREE WOGS, Richard. I have the
1975 David R. Godine edition, which also contains "Theroux
Metaphrastes," an extravagant and funny self-justification.
