End of year usually finds me rereading old favourites -
Georges Perec - Life A User's Manual (an encyclopaedic
masterpiece - highly recommended)
Harry Mathews - all the novels: The Conversions/Tlooth/
The Sinking of the Odradek Stadium/Cigarettes/The Journalist
(one of the great American writers of the 20th century IMHO
- and if you like him check out Raymond Roussel and Ronald Firbank)
Loadsa stuff on Orson Welles (the Callow & Bogdanovich esp.)
in the wake of seeing Touch of Evil again recently on the big screen;
The Anecdoted Topography of Chance - Daniel Spoerri et al.
also dipped into biogs. of Nabokov, Andre Breton, Leni Riefenstahl;
Current reading - Bunuel's My Last Breath, Mallarme, Zukofsky's A,
Kelman's How Late it Was How Late (good to see others have
enjoyed his work), Rene Daumal, Melville...
Sounds -
Slapp Happy - Acnalbasac Noom (1st track reminds me
of  'Under the Rose')
Slapp Happy & Henry Cow - Desperate Straights
Henry Cow - Concerts
Harry Partch - Delusion of the Fury & The Bewitched
Krautrock: Faust, Can, Amon Duul II, Neu
The Prodigy - Firestarter
Spring Heel Jack, Omni Trio, Photek
Arvo Part - Te Deum
Miles Davis - lots of stuff from the early 70s
and many other things...

By the way, Chris Cutler (of Henry Cow and many other projects)
has set texts of TRP's to music - If anyone's interested I'll post
the details)

Gearing up to M&D,

Burhan
