I don't really find DFW all that Pynchonesque... I think a non
reader could hang with DFW much easier than Pynchon... he is out there and
I love him for that...I too couldn't put IJ down...read it last summer....
Most addictive book I think I've ever read...wanting to read it at all
times....until that night I finished and was like damn....why? why is it
over? But it's a great book to talk about and think about, figuring out
everything etc...Good good.
In reading all his other stuff he definitely has his own thing
going. Broom of the System was entertaining, but just didn't stand up as
well as his other stuff. Some of those short stories are really good...The
Curious Hair one and the Jeopardy especially...but whatever......
If IJ was show offy I hope he shows off somemore.
