Craig: John Krafft submitted the "Cool Pynchon Section" last year as a
whole panel, with all those 4 papers on _GR_ and its "texts, intertexts,
real texts": Terry Caesar's, Inger Dalsgaard's, Jeff Baker's and mine. So
you were not deliberately "shunted off to the side" together with Bob
McLaughlin. But it escapes me why they did not put you two in the same
panel. (Since they *did* gather together distinct submissions on Pynchon
this year: those by Diana, me and, Dana Medoro (Queen's University,
Kingston, Ontario). Thursday Feb 20, 3 p.m. - 4.30 p.m. Is the last talker
familiar to anyone, by the way? - John, you will moderate a panel in
Friday afternoon, with Eric Cassidy, Amy Elias and Robert Holton, right?)
It was also really odd that there were two Pynchon papers at *exactly* the
same time; yours and the one on _Lot 49_, Bakhtin, and gender. So
Scandinavia's two real gifts to the world, Inger D and Heikki R, decided
to split, she auditing your panel and he that ready-made Bloomingtonian
one which included the _Lot 49_ piece. It goes without saying that he
would have liked to hear both papers.
Stephen Wright wasn't so bad, was he?
