Hello

False Bay is certainly a real name.  It's on the southern part of Cape
Peninsula and the area is also known as Constantia.

Here is some vaguely relevant stuff edited from the False Bay Yacht Club's
www site

"In 1652 De Vereenichde Oostindische Compagnie (VOC) set up a replenishment
station at the Cape for its ships en route to and from the East.  The
necessity of having moorings at Table Bay and False Bay required the
doubling of the infrastructure of gardens, garrisons, hospitals, signalling
services and the like."

and

"... Simon's Bay on the western shore of False Bay... was discovered by
Simon van der Stel, the governor of the Cape in 1687, as a winter anchorage
for the vessels of the Dutch East India Company."
