I know someone already mentioned nostalgia before the event as analog to
the V-2 rocket, heard before felt.  In Pointsman terminology, I think we
can also think of it as fascination for the response without the stimulus.
Nostalgia itself is a desired end, so much so that there doesn't need to
be any worthy stimulus to provoke it.

And by the way, when I think '70s, I think Stevie Wonder.  God bless that
man.
