Future of the list ...

Hello gang,

I was gone for a few days and came back to find that the list had gone
to hell (even seems to be on the way back!) in the meanwhile. I see that
the idea of moderation has been discussed (and disposed of?). I haven't
had the time in the past 2-3 weeks to read the list (past the bare
minimum necessary to satisfy requests) and am seriously considering
handing over the keys to Matt or some other volunteer if the situation
doesn't improve. My apologies for not adding to the signal on the list
and for the benign neglect of the list-owner responsibilities (which may
or may not include keeping the noise down).
