Thank you for stating what I assumed was obvious. And BTW did anyone 
else notice that the qualifier was attached to the word "hatchet" and 
at no time directly to Vaska?
Two conditions may pertain:
My writing is not sufficiently nuanced to communicate "good natured" 
jibing and/or
there are people on this list whose indignation rises more readily to 
any occasion than their sense of humor.
