Condescending, without a doubt.  Too bad people aren't actually, I don't
know, reading the book?  Am I detecting a bit of resentment on the part of
these critics who didn't have the time to read the whole book directed
towards those who are?

However, the image of someone lugging the rather obtrusive M&D around New
York for the sake of image is rather amusing.  And, if it rains, the dust
jacket could double as an adequate umbrella!
