Pynchon, too, is great for posing with ...
perfect for women who spend their whole day
draped languidly over a chair at the Museum of
Modern Art's cafe with a book perched on their
knees."
>>So why aren't they there?? I work by MoMA's cafe, and haven't yet
seen women draped languidly there with a copy of M&D on their lap. In
fact, I'd like to see someone _try_ to appear languid while balancing
the book on their lap.
[Pynchon] did not even object to the holding
of a "Thomas Pynchon lookalike contest" to
mark the publication of the book on April 30.
>>We did announce, didn't we, that Chris K.
won that contest? (I think I came in second,
not having been there.)
