anyone who is frustrated by fast, shallow reviews of M&D or any other book
they really really liked (or wanted to think about critically) needs to
rush out and buy a copy of "Fire the Bastards!" by Jack Green. "The
Bastards" are every lazy book reviewer known to man; Green's book in
question is Wm. Gaddis' THE RECOGNITIONS. Green absolutely blasts the
fonies, and it is funny, sad and obsessive all at the same time. And best
of all (for me) it reminds me again and again how good THE RECOGNITIONS is.
