     I confessed to my current employer that I read occasionally (without 
     specifics), and was told that she and one of the other people in our 
     department "don't read any more."
     
     Which is scary, when you consider that the department is responsible 
     for documentation.  (Or, maybe, it explains a lot...)

I, for one, would never tell a prospective employer that I spend a 
lotta time reading and, even worse, rereading Pynchon. But then 
again, I don't work in the arts, edu, or a library.
