Also, I did want to raise the issue for those who were interested, then take
it off-list. It would make a perfect pynchon-l discussion, though, as it
reveals the reality behind the Them metaphor. Pynchon writes a lot about how
unseen forces control the way we think. The AIDS/HIV/AZT controversy shows
many different aspects of the method and the agents and the results.
