I'd get real paranoid if I discovered that some of those viruses were
actually symbiotes. What strange proteins, what rich stew of enzymes
might they offer by way of exchange for the temporary loan of your
cellular reproductive systems?  Imagine them hitching a ride to their
next lucky host on the back of a giant sneeze tittering in their
high-pitched voices "So long and thanks for all the mitochondria". And
a faint p.s. as they disappear courtesy of a nascent nasal snuffle "we
left all the shit in your lymphatic system - enjoy, only don't take it
all at once or this might just be our last visit". Ahh, but the
dreams, the dreams . . . so beautiful.
