	In one of the anecdotal biology books I have sitting around
is the story of a researcher in Africa.  He was studying worms which
live in the blood system.  These 'parasitic' worms had no ill effect
on the host mammal, as far as he could ascertain.
	The time came that he was to return to the USA, and he soon
found that it was illegal to bring his research critters back with him.
He wasn't finished with his work.  He put some in his body.
	This gentleman, all his life, had suffered allergies, whose
specific nature escapes me.  During the time the worms were in his
body his symptoms disappeared.  After he removed the worms, his
symptoms returned.
