A great flick, but it doesn't come over well on teevee.
Better on the wide screen.
Especially the scene of the young Boer vrowlein chunkin' a
few sticks of Nobel's invention. Striking!

Speaking of old guys, Pynch doesn't look that bad. A lotta
writers I know look worse. And the kid will be a great asset in picking
up dames. Better than a copy of Finnegans Wake. Ooops, 
sorry, Melanie.

Seriously, irreverence for the famous is not unhealthy.
Doesn't mean we should try to engage them in conversation,
gawk, or otherwise act rude in their presence of course.
