Not to overdo a good thing, but the "Zippy the Pinhead" strip this morning
involves square vs. hip literary criticism as well as other possible
cultural divides.
The two guys are watching TV---
The Square (notice his head): DO PEOPLE STILL CARE IF THEY GET A GOOD STORY?
Zippy: I DON'T EVEN CARE IF I GET A GOOD PICTURE!
The Square: IS TH' PLOT WITH THE TRADITIONAL CONFLICT, PAYOFF & CHARACTER ARC NOW PASSE?
Zippy: I DON'T KNOW, BUT I LIKE TH' PAYOFF OF THIS "DEPENDS" COMMERCIAL!
The Square: I MEAN, AS SOON AS I GET INVOLVED WITH ONE GUT-WRENCHING CASE OF "N.Y.P.D", BOOM, THEY SWITCH TO ANOTHER . ..
Zippy: DID I TELL YOU MY COUSIN DOES TH' CAMERA WORK?
