TRP and Douglas Adams

 Adams resembles Vonnegut(circa Sirens of Titan) much more than Pynchon. 
As far as the Hitchiker's guide "trilogy" goes, its much funnier in its
radio and TV incarnations- the material was originally meant to be
performed and it tends to die on the page. Kind of like trying to turn the
Marx Bros. Duck Soup into a novel..
