I believe it's a reference to a song from one of Shakespeare's plays. Let
me check...
*pulls out the Bard's collected works*
My first guess was that it was something sung by Puck, in _A Midsummer
Night's Dream_. But as it turns out it's sung by Ariel, in _The Tempest_.
Act V, Scene I, lines 88-94:
Where the bee sucks, there suck I;
In a cowslip's bell I lie;
There I couch when owls do cry.
On the bat's back I do fly
After summer merrily.
Merrily, merrily shall I live now
Under the blossom that hangs on the bough.
