These days Wapping is synonymous with Rupert Murdoch's fortress in
which are housed the journalists who write for most of Britain's most
disreputable rags - The Sun and The Times being the most notable
purveyors of his particular brand of ignorant, vulgar, bloodthirsty,
sexist, racist and unscrupulous misrepresentation and misinformation.
It's fame arose mostly because of the pitched battles which were
fought at its gates by journalists and print workers as Murdoch's
lackeys were bussed in and out of the factory under police guard.
