Just a rumour :)  Pay it no heed.  As for its possible relation to Etruscan:
we'll just have to wait till someone manages to decode Etruscan.  13,000
inscriptions and no Rosetta stone to crack the code -- so, apart from a few
words [of the type king, sun, father, etc.], linguistically it's still terra
incognita.

Nothing to do with culture/civilization: Albanian is just as isolated.
Ditto for Armenian.
