Not that Kasparov was
beaten, after all, you probably couldn't get a 100 meter dash record
holder to race a car, for example, but that GK accused the machine of
cheating and wanted a printout...
Kasparov was beaten, not due to events, but because that
is the contest he has set up. He did not say, "I am racing a car,
and so there is really no contest." He said:
"We should see if this machine is a prodigy or if it was
a lot of human weaknesses in a single event. I have no idea what's
happening here, but I don't think the machine is unbeatable. In
real competitive chess, it will be a different story."
I think the key heree is the "I have no idea" part.
