I have read _Water Music_ and it is a great novel. It
shows, though, that he is probably abetter short story writer. It
is one of those anti-historical novels, if I understand the word
correctly. It has been applied to _Mason & Dixon_. The story is
of Mungo Park, "The First White Man To See The Niger."
It is very funny.
