Actually Fart Proudly is a book by Benjamin Franklin. Haven't gotten far
enough into M&D bu it would be interesting if Pynchon utilizes this.


There are also several books on farts, snots, and shits for children
so they are not afraid of their bodily functions. The two titles
I remember are "Everyone Poops" and "The Gas We Pass."
